Great story BUT I have never had a ring-pull that I would mistake for a beautiful gold ring - he should have gone to specsavers

He probably did, which would account for it "being" a yellow ring pull.

I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.

Very nice and in our general North Somerset area.
That is also the area where one of our Nations most precious finds came from the Alfred Jewel.
