Just a couple of miles from me, and Preston park I’ve visited a thousand times ,
That helmet has never been on display that I can ever remember... and I would of remembered.
If I thought they would actually display it, they could have my Saxon sword and 2 shield boss’s on long term loan

Dear Mr Fox,
Thank you for your very kind offer of the loan of a Saxon Seax sword and two shield boss’s. I have discussed this with my colleague at Tees Archaeology who look after our archaeology collection for us and advise us on these matters. We do already have very similar items within the collection and some are on display so we are not looking to add to this at the moment and we can only take objects on loan if we know for certain that they are going to be displayed.
Ah well
