Henry 3rd gold 20 pence
Just been on another website where it claims that someone found this Henry 3rd gold 20 pence coin today on their own permission.

Worth megabucks and as a single coin does not need reporting as treasure. This should wind up the Treasure Act folks a treat! Here is an image of the reverse.

Fantastic find, personally I would of spent 60 seconds by hand making it flat before posting any pictures .

It certainly looks genuine to me mate but with such a very rare and valuable coin I would have thought it needs be properly examined by an expert to confirm it is indeed a genuine coin, that's all I meant TD

It is reported that it was found using a XP Deus that the finder bought the day before. Lucky man.

I know lady luck can strike at any time..... but I'm always a little suspicious when it does happen. I hope it's proved a genuine find

This coin appears to be from different dies as it reads LVN for London and not LVn as shown on previous examples. Perhaps an even rarer example?
Most of the 80000 coins of this type that were minted were melted down soon after being issued because it was discovered that they contained more gold than they should have had and were worth more in gold than the coin's face value.
