I'm sure this has been debated many times before... buts whats wrong with "amateur treasure hunter" at the end of the day I would think that 9 out of ten items on peoples wish lists would be classed as Treasure after all I don't go out hopeing to find buttons.
Totally agree with recording / exercise / social side etc etc but for me its the reseaching ... seaching..... and finding the stuff that does it for me.
we are all amateurs ... for the most part, looking for treasure so I don't have a problem with the term

I have just watched the story on "Reporting Scotland" (Sky 971)
At least this time, the BBC didn't give the find location.
The finder seems to be keeping quiet too, which is probably a wise thing to do.
