Just came across this site.

Select the overlay map, my fav is the first series 1:25000 "1946 onwards Blue Cover" map. Info was transfered from earlier maps including find spots for things like stone arrowheads. Zoomable with a transparency slider to display Google Earth. Very Cool site.
Move your cursor over the map gives you the grid ref as well.
