Street view is now available on Google Maps.
Type in a location (your house), zoom in and drag the little yellow fellow into the street, takes a few seconds to load.

I found guess who's place I found the other day

The warning notice on a fence further back down the road was a bit of a give away..

Property has a former 13th cent water mill in its grounds (burnt down in the later 1700's) dave said I should write and ask for permission but only if he'll be paying the petrol costs as its 3hrs from here
