Historic Scottish Maps

Post by Puffin »

Even though we’ve got some brilliant offers on selected products available to all our visitors, for existing customers we’re prepared to go one better.

Cassini launches historical maps of Scotland
Cassini has added the Ordnance Survey’s First Edition maps of Scotland (1845-1878) to Mapmaker, its on-line historical map download system. Now you can search for anywhere in mainland Britain by postcode or place name and create your own site-centred maps, which you can download immediately of have professionally printed and mounted ready for framing.

“We’ve been wanting to add Scottish Historical mapping to our site for a long time,” Cassini’s Brian Quinn said. “We are delighted to add these maps as they are a valuable resource for genealogists and historians alike.”

Personalised large-format maps now available!
Our award-winning Mapmaker service will let you create your own A4 or A3 maps centred on any point you choose. If, however, you need something a bit bigger – 80cm x 80cm, to be exact, the same mapping area as our pre-printed sheets – then we’re delighted to announce that these are now available through the following map specialists. All of them have been chosen by us because they know about maps, have the right equipment to produce pin-sharp prints and offer a superb service. You don’t even have to visit them as all products can be discussed and ordered over the phone or via email. Just ask for details about Cassini Mapmaker Plus. The maps can have an inscription added and can be supplied folded or rolled.
