Here you go Des - it is a 70mm (2 and 3/4")square battery cover plate and your remove one of the screws to rotate the plate to access the two 9v batteries. It obviously will not matter if the plate is larger than 70mm as long as the two holes are drilled in the right place for the screws.

In answer to your question. As I remember, the two screws were identical. You could unscrew them both off if you wished, but we just unscrewed the one to save time.
Professionally aimless wandering.

Is it still working?
It looks like a 'mod' under the meter? I don't remember that 'extra' control on my one?

Hi all, me again!

Thanks for all the helpful comments etc. Appreciated.

Can I ask one more Q. Did any of you former 'Arado 120b/130' owners ever have the needle go bad meaning that it will register a battery check but no movement at all for detections?

That was the fine re-tune button Des, which I fitted as an extra as well as the arm brace :g58: :g50:

I found someone with the same name on Facebook who used to live in Bath and sent him a PM but so far no reply. He now lives in Warminster but not 100% sure it is the same chap?

Hi Des - I just found the operating instructions for the Arado 130 and have scanned and attached them below for your mate. Amazing how brief these instructions were compared with todays machines!! Just one piece of A4 card folded up and printed on both sides for the Arado 130!

Thanks a £1M Pete...appreciated.

I still have the original advertising flyer for the Arado 120b...a one page brown in colour, printed both sides.
The 'air tests' were a bit dubious especially "the gold sovereign" claimed "depth"...but some others were pretty spot on!

Hi all,

On the off chance that anyone is on the lookout for an "Arado 130", the guy I was assisting is selling his for Parts: it's working but the meter isn't!
And it'd have to be Posted from the USA so potentially could be USA $120 dollar mark for Registered PayPal postage etc. (I've asked for pictures but won't post here but PM and I could do so: I'll give you my E-Mail addy)
