I will be attempting to do a spreadsheet table of the finds so we can get a clear picture of the numbers of each type.

I will update it at intervals and post a picture on here. It will be interesting to see the results and changes needed to the table!

Finds from South Gloucestershire. Arable field just set aside for silage.
Loam type soil, quite wet. Weather overcast. Ham sandwich and bottle of water.

1 Victorian Penny 1874.
1 Georgian Shoe Buckle.

1 George V Penny 1916.
1 Victorian Brooch(Flower Basket but the stones are missing)
3 Decimal coins £1,10p and 2p
2 Machined Brass Fittings.(Small)
6 Separate pieces of very old corroded Iron cans.
Dog Collar with Blank name plate,
lead fastening strap.
1 Childs Decorated Pewter Teapot ?(Damaged 19c ?)

Finds from an average Buckinghamshire arable field (ear marked for development) which had been rough ploughed to prevent gypsies entering it. Clay subsoil which was visible in the dark topsoil.

1 fuse
1 Roman bronze coin of Groticus
1 George III cartwheel penny
1 Vessel leg
1 blob of alloy from a burnt-out gypsy caravan
1 musket ball
1 fragment of medieval padlock
1 303 cartridge

2 strips of scrap lead
1 lead pop repair (?)
4 pieces of tin plate scrap
1 modern circular purse frame (?)
1 object consisting of two pieces of copper alloy plate, riveted sandwiching a piece of wood.

In 3Hrs 30 Items recovered.

This represented a typical average days detecting in the life of Gog.
