Sorry Tom but all she has now is the history of Hoylake and Westkirby with some mentions of Meols.PACMAN wrote:tomredmayne wrote:Meols: The Archaeology of the North Wirral Coast: Discoveries and Observations in the 19th and 20th Centuries, with a Catalogue of Collections (Oxford ... All sounds very interestiing. My dad was born in Meols in 1920 and we used to go back and visit Hoylake and the area. He lived 4 streets from the seafront.

Very interesting indeed. I lived in in Hoylake by the police station (Queens road) and moved to Meols about 18 years ago. Brought up in the "pool" though.Nige150 wrote:All sounds very interestiing. Re: Wanted, Meols: The Archaeology of the North Wirral
My dad moved to Calderstones before the war. Many relatives lived in Kirkdale, then Aintree, Maghull and Lydiate (Davisons and Rankins). My dad took me to Hoylake in the late '70s and it was a bit run down then, but I think it's back to its best again now. My grandad played for Liverpool Schoolboys and once played at Anfield. I always supported the Pool as a kid. They're my second team now - after Brentford.PACMAN wrote:Very interesting indeed.
