beaches
can someone clear up the law regarding detecting on beaches. Everywhere I look it says you can detect on crown beaches as long as you download the permit. Yet my local beach is not on the crown beaches list and people detect on there. I've even seen posts on here saying that they have detected on it.

Re: beaches
all land requires permission, be it farm land, beaches or river banks. if the beach in question is not on the crown estates foreshores list then it will be privately owned so anyone wanting to detect there needs the permission of the landowner. i couldnt speculate as to whether the detectorists you have seen there are abiding by the law or not. if in doubt, dont get your machine out.

Re: beaches
maybe someone local can advise, i am neither a beach detectorist nor local but i hope i have helped clarify at least part of your request, one of the beach guys might be better placed to help you further.
