Thanks StuE. If everybody just copied in a few people, that would be super. I'll see if I can get a banner or something done.

Just emailed the East Hampshire councillor his answer was the following.....

I can only comment on what happens within East Hampshire, but I do not think
what you are claiming happens within this District from domestic waste
collections.

EHDC collects the waste and Hampshire CC is responsible for disposing of it.
The four domestic waste streams are as follows: Green bin waste goes to one
of the three new incinerators in Hampshire operated by HCC. Black bin
collections go to the Materials Recovery site at Hollybourne where it is
sorted prior to specfic recycling. Any contaminated waste in black bins goes
for incineration. Glass is collected for recycling. Green waste in EHDC bags
goes to the HCC site near Lasham where it is broken down on concrete
hardstanding until it is bagged for sale as ProGrow fertiliser (on sale at
the Bordon Waste Facility)

As far as I am aware NONE of the EHDC waste is "dumped on our countryside",
with the co-operation of farmers, unsuspecting or otherwise.. If you can let
me know of any such cases using EHDC domestic waste I shall be happy to
investigate them.

So if anybody know of any 'Green Waste' issues with in East Hampshire or Hampshire..??? Please let me know and i will inform him...

Thanks Lee for your efforts. :g38: It appears to me that they use a similar kind of method - or so their website suggests. The question is - is it sold to farmers? They say they deliver in bulk :g58:

I wonder if you can ask your Councillor to look into it? :g43:

They say it complies with the rigorous standards of the Soil Association’s certified product accreditation (Certificate Number I 4430) :g43:

Nice one Lee - I haven't heard from my councillors yet but only emailed them (http://www.writetothem.com/) a couple of days ago.

Having read the petition it isn't clear if you wish all green waste to be banned or just sort out the non-biodegradable items from the green waste. This is an important point and I feel it should be made as clear as possible which way this campaign is leaning. One way cleans up the fields and the other can be seen as a threat to many hundreds of jobs and a powerful industry.
I have become comfortably numb
