Actually this link is the obvious one - http://www.atoz.forumukdetectornet.co.u ... 0Waste.pdf but I suppose it would be best to have an official hard copy if you are sending a letter.

I've been following a local blogger, who has picked up on problems relating to residents not sorting domestic recycling materials. Walsall council have changed their contractor and issued leaflets stating that residents should be preprocessing the recycled materials before binning them and that only those materials listed can be recycled. Seems that the average resident does not have a clue on the materials that are allowed in each type of bin. We have three wheely bins per household. General rubbish, recycled and green waste. The whole issue is far more complex then the average person wishes to know, the chuck it, forget it problem, we have at the moment, is the start of this sorry long chain to the green waste ending up on ours fields.

I posted a question in the bloggers comments section regarding how the local council deals with the green waste that is collected. Any bloggers local to you, may have similar type bloggs, a possible way to bring this issue to a wider audience?

Dear Mr Maloney,

Thank you for your e-mail. Could you confirm the location in North West Leicestershire this relates to?

Kind Regards,

Hello Mr Bridgen
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my enquiry.
We initially started to find this product in the Wymeswold area and successfully discouraged the farmer from continued use.
Subsequent reports are reaching me of it being used in the Shepshed & Coalville area as well as Yorkshire,Staffordshire,Northamptonshire & Buckinghamshire.
We are contacting as many MPs as possible to raise awareness as to the serious failings in the screening and sampling process.
This is rapidly becoming a UK wide problem.
Any advice or guidance that could be provided would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

John Maloney

Finally got a response from Waitrose. Tesco and the Co-Op were a bog standard reply, Asda rang, but of course I was out, so got a message, fairly bog standard I thought. This was Waitrose reply. Dunc (MP) no reply as yet, nor any of the others.

Thank you for your e-mail.
We are currently investigating your query with the relevant department, and will be in contact with you as soon as we receive a response with further information for you.
