Re: Nearly every field was covered in green waste?
I seriously think we should now be concentrating on the supermarket giants. They WON#T like this
Tomorrow I'll be writing a letter to tesco, Asda, Morrisons and the Co-OP. We suggest everyone else doers the same !!

Re: Nearly every field was covered in green waste?
I am inclined to think that industrial waste is the main problem, altho looking at Barney's video that looks more non-commercial, which is why I would like to see an outline on a map, I think the waste in Nth Northants is more like the stuff that JCM has come across and that makes me think it is the same operator, in Northants and Leics. I wondered if it is the same all over the country, just a few bad operators?

Yes, but WHO is actually going to write any letters
Re: Nearly every field was covered in green waste?
I have sent one to Tesco, Waitrose, Asda and the Co-Op told all of them that I wouldn't be buying anymore of their produce unless they could assure me that it came from "clean" fields. Of course I only shop at one of them, but that is beside the point! I will be doing more!

Probably only those who have looked beyond detecting and thought about what problems they and their kids and future generations are going to have when they eat food from these fields. Just think about it.............and get writing.

Donnydave wrote: Like one of the guys on the dig said these farmers are cutting off their noses to spite their face, they might be getting some sort of payment for using this stuff, but they also get a nice wad for a Sunday from detectorists and soon there will be nowhere for people to go, no one will be paying to struggle through all this contamination
If I was a farmer neither of the above payments would worry me, it would be the reduction of the value of land that would be my concern, it has to affect it.

No sorry it was such a big area and I did not fancy lugging my camera along but I said to Dazz I wish I had carried my camera now I did notice the ground looked very toxic it was very waterlogged following all the recent rain, and the boggy bits seemed to be full of dark blue/purple sludge like you see with an oil spill They must know what they are spreading though you could not see any actual compost it was all paper/foil and blockboardthe barnacle wrote:did you take any pics of the waste dave
