Thanks Dave - these are cow ear tags from animals imported from Holland! - http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.ph ... g2_page=47 and the page before.

Any chance of easing the bent rivet lobe open on the bottom one - looks to be something stamped on it (the writer of this suggestion bears no responsibility for any damage caused :g64: )

Found today in East Yorkshire 17.54 mm diameter x 5.97 mm thick.

This is the earlier seal with the rivet lobe opened up. Just the letters WF and some scroll work as far as I can see............. :g50:

Just had a closer look and it is definitely a lion facing left..........damn you have good eyes.............. :shock:

Let's hope so. Don't know if you know Nasher but he has a field in Hertfordshire that turns up loads of great quality cloth seals - we still haven't worked out why??

What would be the approximate date for these seals Stu? I know one is dated about 1619 but the others?.......it would help put them into context thanks..... :g50:
