As the bagseal gallery is down at present, I'd be grateful if someone (are you there, Stu?) could confirm that these are from phosphate bags? Some of the 'Leeds Phosphate Company' ones have a star of David but also have the company name on the other side, rather than a number, as here. And just to muddy the waters even more, there are quite a few the same as these 2 on the PAS database, described as 'kosher meat seals', which sounds to me like someone having a guess.

Phil (you knew this already and were probably just showing me an excellent example) - http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=230 and I see you found the cross on shield one - Ged Dodd likes to see those for his amazing database - https://www.facebook.com/groups/PeaceHavensProject/ or http://www.peacehavens.co.uk/BSCROSS.ht ... 59LC5AtdIk if you are not on Face Book

That's interesting - probably shows someone collecting them together to melt down later. Two Proforma-type searcher's seals - http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2724 and a York alnage seal - http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.ph ... emId=36723. If you give me the dimensions I will add them to the Gallery - found in Norfolk I presume?

This bag seal found recently in Wiltshire.
May be of interest.
The reverse appears as a lion over a crown.
Cheers T.D.
