Re: Lead bag and cloth seals
Hi Stu. Saw your call-out for tubular bag seals and wondered if this may be one? It is hollow and flattened with parallel lines across both 'sides'. Could it be a seal or a crimp maybe?.....

Re: Lead bag and cloth seals
Thanks Tom - that's just the sort of thing I want people to look out for but in this case I think you are right with your thought about it being a crimp.
Thanks for showing it and come on the rest of you - go through that scrap box!

Re: Lead bag and cloth seals
I found five bagseals on my last outing to North Cave, East Yorkshire. On 10.08.2016. If any are of interest please use them.
19.47mm x 12.68mm. 22.27mm x 12.43mm. 12.99mm The other 2 are the very common cement seals so I wont bother posting those.

Re: Lead bag and cloth seals
Thanks for showing those Dave:
the first is a fragment of a cloth seal - well worth showing but I'm afraid it has beaten me
the second is one of those name-tag type searchers' seals, like this one - http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.ph ... emId=11952
the last is a Russian bag seal with Cyrillic script on - http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.ph ... g2_page=81
