An interesting site, but for those of you on the first steps to researching your family name don't take the first coat of arms as yours!
Burkes General Armory - a lenghty and very detailed book will probably give many, many different coats of arms for the same name.
Also, you cannot take a coat of arms just because it bears your name. It belongs to the person to whom it was registered.
There are many 'commercial' sites who want to sell you a coat of arms (or a picture of it), but be warned, it WON'T be YOUR coat of arms..
If you are serious about family history, then details count. Be sure you can trace back to the Nobility that these coats of arms were granted, otherwise it has no real meaning and you might as well design your own.
