Taken with a nikon S2, it must be about 6 years old now. It is just a small pocket camera, set on macro. It was about £300 in (I think)...2005, it is 5m pixels, not sure what it's modern equivalent is, but I guess it would only cost about a quarter of that price now.

Panasonic Lumix TZ3 on Macro setting lighting conditions not perfect. Both hand held, a tripod would improve matters.

Canon Powershot SX200IS 12.1mp Although restricted to taking a picture in Super Macro without cropping with the lens as near as possible to the coin. I would normally take a picture in daylight at a height of 3 - 5 inches in Macro to allow the light to flood the coin. I would then crop the picture to get a far superior presentation to the one below! But rules are rules :g42: Incidentally, I wouldn't recommend this particular camera to ANYONE! This make of Canon has a 'dust' issue with the enclosed lense. Dust get's in and you can't get the stuff out unless you send it away to be repaired which is a rather costly exercise!!
