camera query

Post by BAZ »

Hi there, i was thinking of buying a fuji 14mp, 26x or 30x bridge camera, would this being suitable for taking longer shots of wildlife when i am detecting and also for close up shots of finds, to put on forum. I could not afford 2 seperate ones. The camera that we have at moment has 5 megapixles and i am sure 3 of those do not work! any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks baz

Baz, just out of interest, Kodak have a 40% off offer going on at the moment which is nearing its end.

I believe that they are moving out of the camera market, so, you could possibly get a real bargain.

They certainly have produced some fine ones over the years.

Go for it... Fuji make a pretty good Cam, I've got the HS20 x30 zoom, which has produced some great shots, its just been superceed by the HS30 so there are some good bargains to be had, I think Argos have it at around £220.... take a look at the last two of three photo of the months threads.. you'll see what it can do..

good luck,

WW

ps...its a fairly chunky piece of kit to carry around whilst detecting :g56:

The Nikon L120 is half price at Argos at the mo, seems a good deal at £130?
Politicians and nappies have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

I would go with the canon sx40hs, i just managed to get one pretty cheap online the zoom on this thing is amazing for a smallish camera.
Very good for close up macro work to :g50:

Pros
Image quality good
Image stabilisation
Very powerful zoom
Compact size
Easy to use HD video

Cons
Autofocus in macro mode very bad
High speed 10fps doesn't work in sport mode
When shooting in 10fps you can't follow the action in viewfinder or LCD
Easy to accidentally knock function buttons whilst shooting

Try Parkcameras.com. Just bought binoculars from them , very good service. And my god, the prices are good.
