KAP Week

Post by Puffin »

This week is World Wide Kite Aerial Photography Week 2012, may not mean a lot to most. But the KAP community spends this week kite flying and posting as many of their photo's as possible on Flickr.

I had a couple of hours this afternoon, really wanted to experiment with a few things plus blow out a few cobwebbs from the resent miserable weather. I've this massive flag, attached it to the kite line.

Birds, kite and a jet plane, the camera rig in the middle.

The wind suddernly dropped to 0mph and the kite collapsed after I'd gotten the rig on the ground.

I saw some guy flying one last year and couldn't believe how small it was when it was all packed up, I expected him to have to shift it in a large van but it really was very neat and small. Great hobby and some cracking pics.

Is there a "main event" held somewhere this week? If I remember rightly you went off to one last year.
