Cheap macro photography set up

Post by grumpyjohn »

Thought I would share this with other members. I have always had problems taking macro shots with my Canon Ixus camera using a tripod. When the legs were retracted to get in focus the whole set up was unsteady being top heavy so started looking round for a cheap alternative and came up with this. Both components bought off Ebay for £25.04. The retort stand came from Oxford Chem Serve for £15.55 including postage. The lighting C clamp from Pixapro for £9.49 free postage. The screw on the spigot of the clamp is 1/4 inch and fits the boss on the camera for taking a tripod. Camera in the pictures is an old one and just there to show how the set up works. :superhappy: It works brilliantly
