Britian from Above and English Heritage

Britain from Above

More than 15,000 images from one of the earliest and most significant collections of aerial photography of the UK have been made freely accessible online to the public for the first time.

Britain from Above, a new website launched by English Heritage and the Royal Commissions on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and Wales, features some of the oldest and most valuable images of the Aerofilms Collection, a unique and important archive of over 1 million aerial photographs taken between 1919 and 2006.

The images are free to download and could be very useful to id possible public meeting places like Blackpool Beach.

Problem with the site, can't register, it's nothing to do with it being busy. Connection is 100% but the site itself is not responding!

I had that earlier then decided to let me in. I think that the site was launched today and is getting a major hit rate. From what I've seen so far, its going to be very useful.

Frankly I'm now sick and fed up with that damned site. Tried for hours and hours and still can't register...... Very disappointed with it's launch! Very disappointed. Could someone be so kInd as to post a picture of Borden, Kent, so I can see what it looks like? Thanks?

Yes I've picked up on a few bugs, like the search engine not working. I bet give it a few weeks and you will have no problems.
