Wow, not only an important find, but one in super condition.
Thanks Lee.
Thanks Lee.
I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.

Re: mudlark who found a rare Roman lamp
seems implausible to me .. there seems to be a number of fancifull guys in the mags who claim theyve been down there for 30 odd years and i have never heard of them in my digging there since the 70s .. some ML guys back in time were exposed as having been planting finds ..1 of them worked at the natural history museum and used to fake finds ..just saying..all the original ML team all know each others business going way back
Re: mudlark who found a rare Roman lamp
Cheers Lee.....
Re: mudlark who found a rare Roman lamp
Interesting read Lee, but I don’t believe anyone would throw the lamp away even if it was a fake.

Re: mudlark who found a rare Roman lamp
Having been born in the area & worked on the river . The area mentioned has been dug for years..& I cant see any self respecting ml missing that.
I used to attend the coin market in Hungerford lane when it existed in the seventies , & know what goes on & still does ..
Fakes abounded then & still do ..
