Well, turned out it was a bit bleak but as they say you don`t know till you try!
26 folk turned up some of whom were old friends from the detecting world. Several folk couldn`t make it for various reasons but our days out are never about numbers, they are far more social than that!
There was chocolate cake and much standing/sitting about chatting.
Finds: 1 VLC Penny made into a brooch - Treasure! 1 cut quarter, 1 IA/early Roman brooch, 1 annular brooch pin, 1 post medieval silver button, sunburn and half a bucket of scrap. The nature of Lincolnshire is its hard to find the good bits randomly and there is a lot of land out there, we were probably a little way off the busy areas but there is the suggestion of multi period activity in the area.
Lovely day on a new farm where the farmer wanted a trial run before committing to anything regular. He picked up £520 for opening the gate.
Turns out the family have 2,500+ acres between them.
Was going to add snaps but the file size limit precludes that sadly.

Was too far from the village in my humble but it was close to the farm, which is how he wanted it.kev woodward wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 12:15 pmYou really don't know Lincolnshire JC Plenty of ways to find the goodies here
