Whenever I go detecting I carry a small bottle of anticeptic hand cleansing gel with my, as, if not using gloves, you never know what you may dig up, particularly on beaches.
A couple of days ago I got a handful of dog poo, where some idiot had just covered it with sand.
Fortunately I was able to clean my hands immediately, and carry on detecting.
I paid a pound for it, and only a tiny amount is required each time. Just rub it in until the hand feel dry.
Available at all chemists, and most supermarkets.
Also handy when you are about to eat.

I do the same John. It comes in very handy. I also keep some of the disposable wipes with me too.

Very good idea John. I too carry mine around - and not just detecting either. Always have a spare one in the car too. Home Bargains have them at about 30p ish. Not bad at all.
As for the dog poo. Don't tell Coenwolf, the camera will be out

Yes John that stuff is well worth the money.
By the way what kind of a signal did the dog poo give.
I dont think my t2 can detect it.
