Finds Camera comparison shots

Post by Puffin »

This thread is going to be a camera reference thread, an idea I had from being asked to post sample images from a new camera.

Want to buy a new camera for finds shots, not sure that the camera you have in mind will do the job?

Those with cameras, new or old, on a mobile phone or even a scanner, can you just post a simple, sample image or two showing a simple common object next to a scale of some sort with your camera. The common object will be a 10p shot both sides. Camera set to take macro and super macro if its available, no flash, a window sill in day light is the ideal place to do this. Try to get as clear an image from as close as you can.

Then just combine the two images if you can or post the two separate images per macro setting, no image processing or cropping other then reduce the file size for forum posting.

Post your image with a brief description of the camera, name, cost and/or link, etc. Simples!!!

No other comments so to make reading each post easy.

Canon Ixus 107 IS, cheap and simple point, press and pray. Based on the Powershot sd1300 and Ixus 105 is 12 mega Pixel.
Cost from Jessops offer £79.95. Canons own battery, SD card, hackable with SDM software. I had it running for 2 hrs 37 minutes, while the hack was running, taking a photo every 10secs, 977 photos before the battery ran flat.
Bogg standard settings easy to master.

Much depends on lighting, and a steady hand or stand.
