GoPro Hero Surf
Costco UK have an offer on at the moment, 26th Nov to 16th Dec 2012, The Oringinal GoPro HD Naked. down from £179.99 to £155.98 inc VAT. However, in the Birmingham branch, they have cocked up between the listing and the cards on the display, the ones you take to the check out. What they are selling, is the GoPro HD Surf version with helmet bracket and chest mount. I don't know if this applies to other branches but it may be worth checking out, a Surf version for £155.98!
This is the older first edition camera, currently the camera is in its third edition. http://gopro.com/products/

Re: GoPro Hero Surf
I'm still playing, but I've seen some great images and videos from these tiny cameras. I've wanted one for a couple of years but they where priced a little high. Now the third edition has come out the earlier ones are now dropping. They have a very wide angle lense so its a fish eye image maker. They come with a standard water proof case down to 60m. But they run on their own once set, which is the attraction for me as I'm planning on flying it on my kite rig.

A couple of images while playing this afternoon.
There is no view finder just a small LCD screen to see settings on the front and took this by mistake!
This was out of the window.
And the GoPro FaceBook page https://www.facebook.com/gopro

A little further with playing, great then 180 degrees in a number of images stitched together. There is no view finder so you have to point it in the general direction.

Re: GoPro Hero Surf
Just worked out who you are Baz, how are you doing mate. Its a fixed lens, so you can not do anything other then with software to remove the fish eye.
By the way, the waiting list is getting shorter.

Re: GoPro Hero Surf
Spoke to Jim on Friday, he was not sure on how many are before you on the list. You know the form, some go on the list but never turn up when its their turn.
Anyway I've worked out a way to mount the GoPro on my Kite rig, using a small 0.14 Litre Really Useful Box. Added bonus, I can now fly two cameras at once.
