A couple of servos controlled by a small "peanut" board. It pans 15 degrees, stops, the tilts the camera down at 4 different angles before flipping back up and doing another pan. The Canon is running a software hack that allows it to take an image every 5 seconds. Each movement of the rig is timed to 5 seconds. The GoPro has a timelapes feature that takes a picture every so many seconds. So I can turn everything on and it will continue moving and snapping untill the batteries die. The whole lots hangs from a cats cradle of the kite line about 50 feet below the kite.

I was going to have a go at flying today, but the missus dragged me shopping with her sister!

If you don't mind me asking, how much is that setup you have there without the cameras?
The pictures you get are great ,always look out for your posts on this section , something different from the norm.

I had a chance to play with the timelapes that this little camera produces. This is over two hours and 7000 odd photos complied into 4 and a half minutes.

Just discovered that you can do slow motion videos as well. You can video at 60 frames per second then replay at far less frames per second, in effect you can slow an action shot. Cool or what for some thing so small.

I'm just watching Mythbusters rope bridge. I spotted at least 4 GoPro's. Yesterday I had to replace my Mobile phone, ditched the blackberry, pile of pants. I picked up a Samsung Galaxy Ace from Car Phone Warehouse on a very good deal. Turns out the GoPro has a number of plug in options. Wifi, LCD screen and Extra battery. They just clip in to the basic camera unit. This makes sense, the camera is designed for action shots, why endanger every part of a camera when a part will do the job. The WiFi BacPac, which once connected will allow control from either an iPhone or an Android Phone, including live view, from upto 300m, cool tech.
